This was one of the original BBC news stories on Kolos. NRK re-aired it in relation to other Data Center stories that were appearing in Norway. This story was viewed by over 150 million people worldwide when it originally aired and it precipitated scores of other interviews and we gave regarding Kolos.

On July 30th, 2018, the my work for the Kolos Project was awarded the Architizer A+ Award for most innovative data center design. This was the culmination of two years work and a great deal of coordination between teams on 3 continents.

Kolos Norway AS, the company that planned to build a giant data center campus in Ballangen, Nordland, is being acquired by Canada-based Hive Blockchain.

Norwegian data company Kolos is building the largest data center in the world powered by 100 percent sustainable energy. The massive 6.46 million-square-foot facility, which will serve the global data market, will be completed in many years and stages. The center will run on renewable energy in the forms of wind and hydroelectricity.

Norway may become home to the world’s largest data center, as an ambitious plan has been put forward by a company to build a massive facility in the Arctic Circle. ​US-Norwegian company Kolos has obtained part of the necessary funding for the project, which would see the construction of a 600,000 sq m (6.46m sq ft) data center in the city of Ballangen in Nordland county, 225km (140 miles) into the northernmost region of the world.

This was one of two interviews that we gave to Bloomberg news. This one was in the context of how our center takes advantage of global warming. They used us to highlight businesses that actually benefit from the circumstances around climate change.

On Friday, October 7th, 2016, I was interviewed by Bjorn Raunio regarding the groundbreaking  Trelleborg and Smart Rail partnership. During the interview, I highlighted the fact that these types of partnerships provide large companies with the ability to expand their product offerings to customers and small companies with the opportunity to expand their market reach.

Leading up to the TINC program there were a number of press mentions.  This one centered on a discussion regarding a program called GET which is run out of Boston, Mass and concludes that there are additional opportunities for businesses in the Silicon Valley through the TINC program and through other opportunities which I have been fortunate to have a role in.  Read the Alesund Article.

I will be giving a lecture at NTNU (Trondheim) on March 15th, 2013.  This lecture will cover business development in a variety of global settings.  My primary audience will be about 40 students from the entrepreneurial program but anyone is welcome to attend.

Mobile phone messaging company Kadoink Inc. hired Shabber Jaffer as its chief financial officer. San Francisco-based Kadoink also hired Mark Robinson as vice president of product management.

The world's largest 'fortress for data' is being built in the Arctic, and it will be powered by 100 per cent sustainable energy. Located in the northern fringes of Norway, Kolos will be the largest green data centre in the world - relying entirely on hydropower and wind.​

This was one of the early interviews with the BBC for the launch of Kolos, the worlds first Hyper-scale Data Centre. Funny side story about this interview. I was supposed to give it in London but was stuck in the Bergen Airport due to bad weather. By chance, the reporter who was going to interview me was stuck in the same airport and we had it there. We both then flew to London where I enjoyed a day off at my favorite pub with friends before returning back to Norway for more interviews.

Aalberg Audio is a disruptive company in the music space.  They are focused on moving guitar peddles which are traditionally wired to the wireless 20th century.  Guitar peddles are used to change add effects to electric guitars.  It is not uncommon for an artist to use dozens of these peddles.  I was interviewed by Atle Knutsen, a member of the Norwegian Press regarding the market potential and the overall opportunity for Aalberg and its team.  Read the Aalberg Audio Interview.

GROW (sponsored by Business Region Bergen) is a conference designed to motivate local entrepreneurs.  I spoke at the conference about product market validation.  Following the conference, I was invited to a diner where I participated on a panel regarding business opportunities Scandinavian technology market globally.

A small town in the remote north of the Arctic Circle is set to be home to the world's largest data center. The Kolos facility is being developed by a US-Norwegian partnership, also called Kolos, who say the site will eventually draw on a record-setting 1000 megawatts of power.

There, in the small city of Ballangen, Kolos co-CEO Mark Robinson told eWEEK that the company plans to build the 600,000 square meter (about 6.5 million square feet) facility on land formerly occupied by an airport. The land is on Norway’s west coast in an area of fjords and rugged mountains. The four-story facility will supply a gigawatt of power for computing with an estimated PUE (power usage effectiveness) of 1.04.
